About BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore

BMS College of Engineering was founded in 1946 by Late Sri Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah, a visionary and philanthropist, and was later nurtured by his son, Late Sri B. S. Narayan. The college describes itself as the first private-sector initiative in engineering education in India. It began with three branches: Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Today it offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering, architecture, management and computer applications.

BMS College of Engineering admission process 2026-27

Admission to the B.E. programme at BMSCE is through three routes. All of them are legitimate, and the right one depends on your state of domicile, your entrance exam score and your preferred branch.

1. KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

KCET is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for Karnataka-eligible candidates. Seats are allotted through KEA’s online counselling according to your KCET rank, category and choices. KCET government-quota seats have the lowest fees, which makes them the most competitive.

2. COMEDK UGET

COMEDK UGET is conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka and is open to candidates from all over India. Seats are allotted through COMEDK online counselling according to your rank. COMEDK fees are higher than KCET government-quota fees.

3. Management quota (direct admission)

A portion of seats in private engineering colleges in Karnataka is filled by the college management. Students who missed the rank they needed in KCET or COMEDK, or who want a specific branch, can apply for a management quota seat by meeting the eligibility criteria and paying the management quota fee fixed by the college. B.Arch admission

B.Arch admission requires a valid NATA score (or as notified by the Council of Architecture) together with the KCET or COMEDK counselling process, or the management route.

PG admission (M.Tech, MBA, MCA)

M.Tech admission is generally through PGCET (KEA) or a valid GATE score. MBA and MCA admission is through PGCET and other accepted management entrance tests such as KMAT or CMAT. Accepted exams and procedures can change each year.

BMSCE eligibility criteria

B.E.	Pass 10+2 (PUC II) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, plus Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics. Generally a minimum of 45% aggregate in these subjects (40% for reserved categories as per Karnataka/AICTE norms), and a valid KCET or COMEDK rank for counselling seats.
B.Arch	Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with the minimum marks prescribed by the Council of Architecture, and a valid NATA score.
M.Tech	B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline with the minimum aggregate prescribed, and a PGCET or GATE score.
MBA	Any bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years with the minimum aggregate prescribed, and a valid PGCET or other accepted entrance score.
MCA	Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics at 10+2 or degree level (as per AICTE norms) and a valid PGCET score.

BMSCE fees depend on how you are admitted:

• KCET (government quota): annual tuition fee set under the Karnataka government’s fee agreement with private colleges. This is the lowest fee category.
• COMEDK: annual fee as notified by COMEDK for the year. Higher than KCET.
