What Is Management Quota at MSRIT?

Private engineering colleges in Karnataka fill their seats through three channels: government seats through KCET, private seats through COMEDK, and a share of seats filled by the college management. The management quota is the route for students whose rank did not get them the branch they wanted, or who want more certainty about the college and branch before counselling ends.

Fees for management seats are higher than KCET or COMEDK fees and they vary by branch. MSRIT does not publish its 2027 management quota fees in advance, so contact us for updated details.

Eligibility for 2027

  • Pass in 2nd PUC or Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or another technical subject as the third subject.
  • At least 45% aggregate in these subjects (40% for reserved categories), as per the usual AICTE norm.
  • Many students also hold a KCET, COMEDK or JEE Main score. Ask us whether a score is needed for your chosen branch this year.

Step-by-Step Admission Process

  1. Shortlist branches early. Pick a first choice and one or two backups, for example CSE, then ISE or AI and ML.
  2. Write the entrance exams. Take KCET and COMEDK anyway. A good rank can get you a cheaper seat and gives you options. See management quota vs COMEDK vs KCET for a full comparison.
  3. Register your interest. Speak to an admission counsellor to understand seat availability, timelines and the fee for your branch.
  4. Keep documents ready. Have marks cards and certificates scanned and in hand before results come out.
  5. Confirm the seat. Once a seat is offered, complete the paperwork and fee payment directly with the college and always collect an official receipt.

Documents You Will Need

  • 10th and 12th (2nd PUC) marks cards
  • Transfer certificate and conduct certificate
  • Entrance exam scorecard (KCET, COMEDK or JEE Main), if you have one
  • Aadhaar card of the student
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Migration certificate for students from boards outside Karnataka

Tips Before You Pay for a Seat

  • Never pay cash to anyone without an official college receipt.
  • Compare the management seat with what your KCET or COMEDK rank can get you. Sometimes a counselling seat is a better deal.
  • Do not wait for the last round. Popular branches at MSRIT are usually the first to go.
  • Keep a backup college in mind. Our management quota guide for Bangalore engineering colleges lists good alternatives.
